Hosting an event in a small village

Word document 12 pages.
Summary

Holding an event in a small village is vastly different from holding an event in the city or a larger regional area.  In a small village many people know each other and they have specific interests. Community members have routines and groups that they usually hang out with, not necessarily mixing with other groups.

It is important to do your research before you begin any event planning. Decide on your target market- what kind of people you want to attract.  Gather a good crew around you, try to encourage open, positive, communication and have a brainstorming session. Set goals and evaluate them after the event so you know whether it is worth doing again. Create good networks and striking promotional material. Planning is a vital part and if this looks like it is going to be an ongoing business venture then I recommend spending time doing a business plan.

Events in small villages are the way community joy is created. Great events create stronger community support networks. With strong community networks wonderful things can occur.
